December 2008

Brrrrr!

It is definitely winter time here in Indiana. We have already had a couple of snowfalls and sub freezing temperatures. Since the season’s end, I've managed to pretty much take it easy. The week after the Pomona finals was pretty exciting as my one of my best friends Brandon Bernstein married his long time girlfriend Tracey Metz. Those two make a great couple and the wedding was awesome. The wedding reception took place on Huntington Beach and the views were amazing. It was nice to take a few days away from everything and just relax along the beach. It’s neat to go to events like weddings and see people like Larry Dixon, Bob Vandergriff Jr, John and Ashley Force, Morgan Lucas, and Greg Anderson in the crowd.

After leaving sunny southern California and the warm weather, it was time to head back to Indy where things had already been frozen. Even though it has been freezing cold out, I've still managed to find time to play outside. I went four wheeling with a few of my buddies and now I have the sudden urge to buy a four wheeler. The day after I actually felt my age catching up with me, though. As if I couldn't get enough abuse, I managed to go snow skiing as well. Any time I escape the slopes without any broken bones is a win!

I am really looking forward to this week as it's time to head south to Orlando for the P.R.I. show. This is great time to see a lot of people from throughout the racing community and talk with a lot of product sponsors. The warm weather is enough to get me on a plane and out of Indy. Hopefully I can lock up a few deals as I'm still not 100% sure what I will be doing in 2009. The next couple weeks should be fun as I have a birthday coming up, Christmas, and The Bodine Bobsled Challenge. I am hoping by next month’s blog, that I have some kind of good racing news to report. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to all!
