November 2008
Bad season almost over. With one race left on the tour, this mostly disappointing season is almost over. Although we scored one event win this season over the champ, the season has pretty much been one that I’d just as soon forget. In the big picture, I get to go out every race weekend and do what I love for a living. Hopefully I can continue to do this for the rest of my life but you never know what the next season may bring. I am thankful for what drag racing has brought me and it has opened a lot of doors for me. I'm actually looking forward to the off season. The weekend after the Pomona finals is Brandon Bernstein's wedding. This should be a great time as the event takes place on Huntington Beach. After the wedding it will be time to go back to Indy for Thanksgiving. This has to be one of the best holidays of the year due to being surrounded by family and eating large amounts of great food! After Thanksgiving it will be time to head south to Orlando for the Performance Racing Industry show. This is always a great show with many sponsors and racers. Not long after the show, it's Christmas before you know it. Following the New Year, a few of us head to frozen Lake Placid, NY for the NHRA vs. Nascar bobsled challenge. This is a great event and it’s always fun to hang with the Nascar boys and our Olympic bobsled guys. A couple of weeks after bobsledding I hope to be doing some pre season testing and getting ready for the Winter Nationals in Pomona. Although the season is almost over, the off season is definitely not very long! I am hoping that next time I write you, I’ll have all the pieces in place for the 2009 season. Happy Thanksgiving!
